STEVE'S... a brief history...
Steve Mathiesen began Steve's TV in 1957 as a
radio and TV repair shop. He lived and worked at the same location: a white
house at the corner of Lancaster and Cedar Streets in Kitchener. Later, Steve
began selling radios and TVs, and gradually added more products and services
over the years.
In 1962, Steve's TV moved to its second
location at 295 Lancaster Street.
When VCRs came
on the scene in 1980, Steve's was one of the first stores in Kitchener to rent
movies. Steve's is now the largest and one of the last-remaining
independent in the area.
Steve's TV moved into its present 12,500
square-foot location at Frederick Mall in 1984. There is also a 7,000
square-foot warehouse.
In 1996, Steve Mathiesen retired, and Randy Martin
purchased the business.
In 2004, our logo was redesigned and we celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2007.
